Job summary

The Westport Club in Port Macquarie is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead a high-volume kitchen alongside our Head Chef, developing people and maintaining high culinary standards.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, mentor chefs and apprentices, ensure quality and presentation across outlets, and contribute to menu development and cost control in a dynamic hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen.
• Ability to lead and develop a team of chefs and apprentices.
• Strong focus on food quality, presentation and consistency.
• Experience with menu development and stock/cost control.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day operation of our kitchens.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of chefs and apprentices to achieve their full potential.
• Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation across all outlets.
• Assist with menu development, stock control, ordering and cost management.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, WHS and kitchen standards.
• Contribute to the long-term growth and success of our culinary operations.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers to source quality ingredients at the best value.
