Job summary

Southern Cross Fertilisers in North West Queensland is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to lead the mechanical maintenance team and ensure plant availability through planned and reactive work.

You will supervise 10–15 tradespeople and coordinate resources across normal operations and shutdowns, reporting on work quality and safety, with a FIFO 8/6 roster from Phosphate Hill. Based at Phosphate Hill, the role offers meaningful ownership and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of maintenance work management processes and quality processes.
• Experience in fault finding equipment failures and prioritising reactive work.
• Risk management, safety reporting and incident investigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical maintenance team to safely execute the planned and reactive work required to achieve the desired plant availability.
• Coordinate resources and ensure work quality in both normal operations and shutdown periods.
• Report on maintenance work execution, quality and safety metrics.
• Collaborate with peers and other departments to maintain continuity across crew changes and ensure compliance with SAP CMMS.
