Job summary

South32 Group Operations Pty. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Supervisor Underground Projects (Mechanical) for two 24-month fixed-term contracts. Roles are on an 8:6 roster with FIFO options from Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

You will lead delivery of mechanical capital projects, ensuring safety, contractor performance, schedule and budget control, and a clean handover to operations. Strong supervision in underground mining is essential.

Qualifications

• Trade or tertiary qualification in a mechanical discipline is preferred.
• Mining Supervisor qualification (G1/G8/G9) or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
• Current valid driver's licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical capital projects through the execution phase with safe outcomes.
• Ensure contractor performance, schedule adherence and budget control.
• Successful handover to operations and close management of project documents.
• Coordinate project variations, reporting and system updates.
• Manage permits, shutdown requirements and cross-functional interfaces.
