Job summary

South32 Group Operations Pty. Ltd. in Queensland is seeking a Supervisor Underground Projects (Mechanical) to lead mechanical capital projects through the execution phase, ensuring safe outcomes, effective contractor performance, schedule adherence and successful handover to operations.

We have two 24-month fixed-term contracts on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville, or Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

Qualifications

• Supervision experience within underground mining or similar environments.
• Delivery of construction or capital projects in mining or heavy industry.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships with operations and contractors.
• Plan, coordinate and prioritise competing project activities.
• Effective communication across diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project variations, reporting and project system updates.
• Maintain quality documentation, completions records and work packs.
• Provide constructability input during project study phases.
• Manage permits, shutdown requirements and cross-functional interfaces.
