Job summary

The Arnott’s Group in Brisbane’s Virginia site is seeking a Lead Machine Operator for the Afternoon Shift to manage packing machines and feed product along the line, maintaining quality and throughput.

You’ll work in a fast-paced FMCG environment, stay calm under pressure, and lead a small team while upholding GMP and safety standards.

Hourly rate is $45.75 plus shift allowance, with total earnings around $90,000 per year; uniforms are provided and drug/alcohol screening is part of recruitment.

• Work autonomously and collaboratively to meet daily production requirements
• Coach and develop team and contribute to continuous improvement activities

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Machine Operator - Afternoon Shift to join our Arnott’s Virginia team!

This role is perfect for someone experienced in operating machinery within a fast-paced environment and who prides themselves on remaining calm, focused, and solutions‑driven.

You will be responsible for operating packing machinery on the line and feeding product on the band, ensuring consistent performance and quality across our production processes. If you are a strong communicator with a mechanical mindset and you enjoy being part of a supportive, hands‑on team — this could be the role for you.

What your day looks like:

• Set up, changeovers, operating and troubleshooting of equipment within Arnott’s OH&S, Quality and Performance Standards
• Maintain smooth operation of packing machines and feeding stations
• Complete quality control checks throughout the shift
• Uphold GMP, HACCP and hygiene standards, ensuring all process areas remain clean and compliant
• Work both autonomously and collaboratively to meet daily production requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the team
• Coach and develop team

• Previous machine operating experience in an FMCG environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence troubleshooting machinery
• Understanding of team, safety, and quality operating principles
• Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles (advantageous)

Additional Requirements:

Hourly Rate:

$45.75 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance), equivalent to approximately $90,000 per annum.
