Job summary

Tyree Transformers in Mittagong seeks a Mechanical Engineer – CNC Programmer/Operator to join the Fabrication Team. You will nest parts, program CNC cutting equipment, and support production with design improvements.

Required are CNC nesting/programming experience, ability to read drawings/BOMs, and a strong mechanical aptitude. AutoCAD knowledge is preferred, and commitment to high-quality work is expected.

• Experience improving designs to suit manufacturing needs.
• Experience with nesting and programming of CNC cutting equipment.
• Experience with Salvagnini CNC equipment is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Nesting of metal parts to meet production schedule.
• Operate and maintain laser, plasma and other CNC machines.
• Provide technical support for production equipment and processes.
• Programming presses and developing sheet metal layouts.
• Improve designs to fit manufacturing needs.
• Basic AutoCAD knowledge required.

About the Role

Due to its rapid and ongoing growth the Company now has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer – CNC Machine Programmer / Operator to join the Fabrication Team. Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, this role will be responsible for:

• Nesting of Metal parts to meet production schedule
• Sheet Material inventory control
• Laser, Plasma and other CNC machine operation & maintenance
• Tehcnical support for production equipment and processes
• Press programming and sheet metal development
• Improving designs to suit manufacturing needs
• Basic AutoCAD knowledge

About You

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

• Previous experience in improving designs to suit manufacturing needs
• Experience with nesting and programming of CNC cutting equipment
• Experience working with Salvagnini CNC equipment (highly regarded but not essential)
• Proved mechanical aptitude
• The ability to read drawings and BOM's
• A highly organised and thorough approach in all aspects of work
• A can do attitude that support production goals and targets
• Proven high levels of attention to detail and a desire to produce quality work
• Reliability, drive and self-motivation
