Job summary

JLB Landscaping in Melbourne is seeking a hands-on leading hand to coordinate daily site activities, supervise workers and apprentices, and drive projects from planning through to handover. This role combines field leadership with practical, on-site problem solving.

You will read plans, manage materials, equipment, and deliveries, monitor workmanship, and maintain a safe, tidy site while guiding your team to completion.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience in landscape construction.
• Previous leading hand or site supervision experience is highly regarded.
• Ability to manage daily tasks and work independently.
• Confidence using plans, measurements, levels and construction equipment.
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Current driver's licence and White Card.
• Landscaping qualifications, machinery experience and a truck licence are advantageous.
• Reliable, punctual and ready to work.
• Takes ownership of their work and follows tasks through to completion.
