Job summary

Smart Landscapes on the Mornington Peninsula and South East Melbourne is seeking an experienced Landscape Team Lead to oversee day-to-day delivery on site. You will work closely with our Construction Manager to plan works, lead crews, and ensure safety, quality and on-time completion.

The role requires hands-on landscape or civil construction experience, ability to read drawings, and strong communication. You’ll progress toward higher responsibilities as the business grows, with clear milestones

We're looking for an experienced, hands‑on Landscape - Team Lead to lead our construction crews and take ownership of day‑to‑day delivery on site. You'll be the vital link between our Construction Manager and the field crew — planning the work, leading the team, and making sure every site is delivered safely, on programme, and to a standard we're proud of.

Key responsibilities

Working day to day with the crews, providing hands‑on leadership and training.

Lead and coordinate landscape construction crews day to day

Allocate tasks, set priorities and keep production on track

Check quality as work progresses and fix issues before they compound

Coordinate materials, plant and equipment for upcoming work

Report progress, issues and variations to the Construction Manager

Represent the company professionally with clients and other trades

About you

Solid hands‑on experience in landscape or civil construction

Proven ability to lead and get the best out of a crew

Confident reading drawings and specifications

Good communicator — comfortable escalating issues early

Organised, practical, and calm under pressure on site
