Job summary

Greenleaf Landscapes is a Melbourne-based landscaping company delivering high-quality commercial landscape construction across projects in Melbourne. We are seeking a qualified landscaper or experienced leading hand to join the team and lead a crew on site.

The role combines hands-on landscape construction with day-to-day site coordination, reading plans, coordinating labour and materials, and ensuring work meets project specifications and safety standards. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial landscape construction.
• Previous leading hand/foreman or crew leader experience or ability to step into leadership.
• Strong landscaping skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read landscape plans and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise landscaping crews on site.
• Carry out soft and hard landscaping works (planting, soil prep, mulch, irrigation, paving, concreting, edging, garden bed installation).
• Coordinate labour, materials, equipment and daily site activities.
• Monitor workmanship, productivity and project progress.
• Liaise with builders, site managers and other trades.
• Maintain a safe and productive worksite.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position combining landscape construction with crew leadership and day-to-day site coordination.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supervising landscaping crews on site.
• Carrying out soft and hard landscaping works, including planting, soil preparation, mulching, irrigation, paving, concreting, edging and garden bed installation.
• Reading and interpreting landscape plans and construction drawings.
• Coordinating labour, materials, equipment and daily site activities.
• Monitoring workmanship, productivity and project progress.
• Liaising with builders, site managers and other trades.
• Maintaining a safe, organised and productive worksite.
• Ensuring works are completed to project specifications and quality requirements.

About You

You are a reliable, motivated landscaper who takes pride in your work, uses initiative and can confidently lead a crew.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience in commercial landscape construction.
• Previous experience as a leading hand, foreman or crew leader, or the ability to step up into a leadership role.
• Strong practical landscaping skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to read landscape plans and work independently.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• A current driver's licence and Construction Induction Card (White Card).

The following will be highly regarded

• Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Rigid (HR) truck licence.
• Excavator and skid steer operating experience, with relevant training or tickets.
• Irrigation installation experience.
• Experience working on commercial construction sites.
