Job summary

ALS Environmental Division in Stafford, Queensland is seeking a highly organised Sample Receipt Officer to join our busy lab. The role is permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday, roughly 8:00am–4:15pm, handling sample intake, documentation and client Liaison.

You will sort, register and distribute samples, maintain accurate records, and respond to phone and email inquiries with a customer-focused mindset. A background in science is helpful, but qualifications are not essential.

Responsibilities

• Allocating batch numbers and ensuring accurate sample tracking.
• liaising with Senior Chemists and Section Team Leaders regarding urgent or anomalous samples.
• Organising dispatch and receipt of freight and samples; coordinating paperwork and COC updates.
• Handling phone and email inquiries and maintaining accurate records.
• Maintaining sample fridge, stores and documentation for easy retrieval.
• Preparing samples and sub-sampling as directed by customer or service team.
• Ensuring proper storage and disposal of samples in a timely manner.
