Job summary

AC Hotel Gold Coast – Surfers Paradise QLD is seeking a Kitchen Steward Supervisor to lead the stewarding team across our kitchens and Food & Beverage outlets. You will collaborate with culinary and F&B leaders to maintain safety, cleanliness, and efficient operations aligned with Marriott standards.

With at least 2 years in stewarding or hospitality and 1 year in supervision, you will oversee daily activities, coordinate across areas, supervise stock and handovers, and support training.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of stewarding, kitchen support or hospitality experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene, sanitation and food safety requirements.
• Confidence supervising and motivating a diverse team.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative leadership style.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the daily activities of the stewarding team.
• Coordinate stewarding operations across kitchen, restaurant, lounges and other Food & Beverage areas.
• Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up equipment, supplies and work areas.
• Inspect kitchen, restaurant and storage areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety.
• Monitor correct stock rotation.
• Complete scheduled inventories and requisition required cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Support efficient cleaning and turnaround of kitchen equipment, crockery, glassware, cutlery and utensils.
• Assist with scheduling, training, coaching and development of Kitchen Support Experts.
• Provide clear handovers between shifts and communicate operational priorities.
• Report maintenance issues and coordinate required repairs.
• Work collaboratively with Culinary and Food & Beverage leaders to support smooth hotel operations.

As a Kitchen Steward Supervisor, you’ll play a key leadership role within our Heart of House operations, supporting the day-to-day running of stewarding across our kitchens and Food & Beverage outlets.

Working closely with our culinary and Food & Beverage leaders, you’ll help ensure our kitchens, equipment, storage areas and back-of-house spaces operate safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.

What You’ll Do

Supervise and support the daily activities of the stewarding team.

What We’re Looking For
