AC by Marriott Gold Coast is preparing to open a brand-new hotel and seeks a Maintenance Officer to join the Engineering team on a part-time basis.

You will support day-to-day maintenance, perform basic tasks, plumbing fixes, light fittings, and routine checks to keep the hotel safe and functional. The role suits practical, dependable individuals who are eager to learn and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should be practical, dependable and willing to perform hands-on maintenance.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Flexibility to work a part-time rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
• Experience in maintenance, trade assistance, facilities or hotel settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic maintenance and minor repair tasks across the hotel.
• Address simple plumbing issues such as unclogging drains and leaks.
• Carry out small repairs and routine checks on equipment and fixtures.
• Support preventative maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Report maintenance issues and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Help move equipment, tools and materials as required.

As a Maintenance Officer, you’ll support our Engineering team with day-to-day maintenance tasks that help keep the hotel safe, functional and looking its best.

This is a hands-on support role, ideal for someone practical, reliable and willing to assist across a range of basic maintenance activities.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with basic maintenance and minor repair tasks across the hotel.
• Support with simple plumbing issues such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets and addressing minor leaks.
• Complete small repairs including tightening fittings, changing light bulbs and patching minor wall damage.
• Assist with preventative maintenance of tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Help identify and report maintenance issues, hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Support the Engineering team with moving equipment, tools and materials as required.
• Carry out visual checks of equipment and hotel areas.
• Follow workplace health and safety, security and Marriott International procedures at all times.
