Job summary

AC by Marriott Gold Coast is seeking a Kitchen Support Expert Supervisor to lead the stewarding team and oversee Heart of House operations. You will ensure cleanliness, safety, and efficient kitchen turnaround across outlets and storage spaces.

You’ll partner with culinary and F&B leaders to coach staff, coordinate opening/closing tasks, and uphold high standards of food safety. Rotating shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of stewarding/kitchen support or hospitality experience.
• Current Food Safety Certification preferred.
• Ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the daily stewarding activities.
• Coordinate stewarding across kitchen, restaurant, lounges and F&B areas.
• Complete opening/closing duties including setup of equipment and supplies.
• Inspect areas for cleanliness, organisation and food safety standards.
• Monitor stock rotation and FIFO practices.
• Conduct inventories and requisition cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Assist with scheduling, training and development of Kitchen Support Experts.
• Provide clear handovers between shifts and communicate priorities.

As a Kitchen Support Expert /Stewarding Supervisor, you’ll play a key leadership role within our Heart of House operations, supporting the day-to-day running of stewarding across our kitchens and Food & Beverage outlets.

Working closely with our culinary and Food & Beverage leaders, you’ll help ensure our kitchens, equipment, storage areas and back-of-house spaces operate safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.

What You’ll Do

• Supervise and support the daily activities of the stewarding team.
• Coordinate stewarding operations across kitchen, restaurant, lounges and other Food & Beverage areas.
• Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up equipment, supplies and work areas.
• Inspect kitchen, restaurant and storage areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety.
• Monitor correct stock rotation and FIFO practices.
• Complete scheduled inventories and requisition required cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Support efficient cleaning and turnaround of kitchen equipment, crockery, glassware, cutlery and utensils.
• Assist with scheduling, training, coaching and development of Kitchen Support Experts.
• Provide clear handovers between shifts and communicate operational priorities.
• Report maintenance issues and coordinate required repairs.
• Work collaboratively with Culinary and Food & Beverage leaders to support smooth hotel operations.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 2 years of relevant stewarding, kitchen support or hospitality experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene, sanitation and food safety requirements.
• Confidence supervising and motivating a diverse team.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills.
• The ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative leadership style.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational standards.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
