Job summary

Hellenika at The Calile, James Street, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, is seeking a reliable Kitchen Hand to join our busy kitchen team. This hands-on role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in clean, organised prep and service areas.

You will support chefs, wash dishes, manage kitchen cleanliness, assist with basic food prep, and help ensure supplies are ready during service while following food safety and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Kitchen Hand in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
• Willingness to assist team and maintain cleanliness.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Excellent reliability and punctuality.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hands to join the talented kitchen team at Hellenika.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working as part of a fast-paced team and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.

Your Role

As a Kitchen Hand, you’ll play an important role in supporting the chefs and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly throughout preparation and service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Washing dishes, cookware, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
• Keeping washing and storage areas clean and well organised
• Assisting with basic food preparation when required
• Ensuring equipment and supplies are available during service
• Supporting the chefs and wider kitchen team during busy services
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
• Removing waste and maintaining clean back-of-house areas
• Completing cleaning duties efficiently and to a high standard

About You
