Job summary

Accor’s Novotel Devonport on the Mersey River is hiring casual Breakfast Cooks to join a vibrant kitchen team. You will help prepare mise en place, assist across service periods, and maintain high standards of food quality and presentation in a fast-paced environment.

Food handling certification is preferred, with opportunities to progress within the Accor network and enjoy staff perks and a dynamic hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Food handling certificate is essential or willingness to obtain one.
• Previous kitchen experience preferred but entry-level applicants will be considered.
• Able to follow food safety standards and work in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organise mise en place to support smooth kitchen operations.
• Assist with food preparation across all service periods.
• Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Keep work area clean, organised and hygienic.
• Follow food safety standards and support stock rotation practices.
• Receive, check, and store deliveries in line with procedures.

Breakfast Cook (Casual) - Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and organise mise en place to support smooth kitchen operations
• Assist with food preparation across all service periods
• Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
• Keep your work area clean, organised and hygienic
• Follow food safety standards and support stock rotation practices
• Receive, check, and store deliveries in line with procedures
• Support the wider kitchen team to ensure efficient service

Qualifications

Breakfast Cook (Casual) - Skills & Qualifications

• Food Handling Certificate essential, or willingness to obtain one
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen preferred, although entry-level applicants will be considered
• Basic knife skills and the ability to prepare ingredients safely and efficiently
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures
• Ability to remain organised and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, motivated and willing to learn
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays
