Job summary

Accor operates Qantas Lounges and is seeking a motivated Part Time Cook for our Canberra Domestic Lounges. You will cook between the a la carte and buffet environments, report to the Head Chef, and help deliver high-quality food for lounge guests.

Join a dynamic team in a role that supports guest satisfaction with flair, while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and working across breakfast and service periods.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cook in a high-volume kitchen.
• Experience in mass production and large volumes.
• Strong culinary skills and passion for delivering exceptional food.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Culinary degree or equivalent an advantage but not essential.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Must have full working rights within Australia.
• Able to work a Part Time contract.
• Ability to pass a federal police background security check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve food for the breakfast buffet with variety and flair.
• Ensure stock rotation and minimise wastage following stock control procedures.
• Assist preparation of ingredients (chopping, slicing, dicing, measuring).
• Maintain food safety protocols across service.
• Keep all working areas clean; wash dishes during service.
• Report problems to the Head Chef and CDP; coordinate with kitchen team.

Job Description

What is the role?

Our Cooks provide service between our a la carte and buffet environments. All our roles are focused on exciting our guests with flair and enthusiasm and demonstrating a genuine passion for cooking and the kitchen. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, you will form a key part of a team who are responsible for providing high quality product to our lounge passengers.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Prepare, cook and serve food for the breakfast buffetshowing variety and flair
• Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage following stock control procedures
• Assist the preparation of ingredients, which includes chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring food products.
• Ensure Food Safety protocols are followed
• Keep all working areas clean and tidy. Cook is required to wash all dishes during service
• Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned.Report any problems to the CDP & Head Chef

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cook in a high-volume kitchen
• Experience and knowledge working in mass production and large volumes

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• MUST have full working rights within Australia
• Able to work a Part Time contract
• Ability to pass a federal police background security check
