The Olsen Melbourne - Art Series, part of Accor, is seeking a Kitchen Steward to maintain sparkle in our kitchen. You will clean crockery, utensils, and workspaces while upholding strict hygiene standards to support a high-quality dining experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen operations or cleaning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hygiene by cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware and kitchen equipment.
• Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors.
• Disinfect and clean following correct chemical usage.
• Assist kitchen team with basic food prep, garnishes and seasoning.

Along the illustrious Chapel Street, The Olsen Melbourne - Art Series, is a masterpiece in itself, infused with the creations of esteemed Australian landscape artist Dr John Olsen. Offering boutique luxury accommodation including apartment-style studio suites, spacious one and two-bedroom suites, on-site Spoonbill Restaurant welcoming up to 80 guests daily from breakfast until late, and Two Wrongs Bar that can accommodate up to 100 guests. In Melbourne, you will not be short of things to do in your leisure time! Purpose

As a Kitchen Steward, your role is pivotal in maintaining the sparkle of our kitchen. Your main responsibilities involve upholding cleanliness, including dishware, utensils, and workspaces, all while strictly adhering to hygiene standards. You are an integral part of the kitchen brigade, collaborating seamlessly to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our valued guests.

Primary Responsibilities

Maintain impeccable hygiene while cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware, and other kitchen equipment, using both commercial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods

Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors

Disinfect and clean, ensuring the proper sequence of chemical usage

Provide valuable support to our kitchen team, including various tasks such as basic food preparation, grating, peeling, chopping, and preparing batters, garnishes, and seasonings.

Skills & Experience

Having practical experience in kitchen operations or cleaning is a plus

Have an enthusiastic "can-do" attitude and a positive and motivated demeanour

You thrive working within a diverse team in a fast-paced environment

Flexible availability to accommodate various shifts, including mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
