Job summary

Mantra on View in Surfers Paradise invites a Kitchen Steward to join our busy hotel kitchen. You will maintain cleanliness of dishes, utensils and work areas, while upholding strict hygiene standards, and support the kitchen team during service.

This role suits someone with practical kitchen or cleaning experience, a positive can-do attitude, and flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays. Accor ALL benefits and staff discounts apply.

• Practical experience in kitchen operations or cleaning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain impeccable hygiene while cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware and other kitchen equipment.
• Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors.
• Disinfect and clean, ensuring the proper sequence of chemical usage.
• Provide support to the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks.

Purpose

As a Kitchen Steward, your role is pivotal in maintaining the sparkle of our kitchen. Your main responsibilities involve upholding cleanliness, including dishware, utensils, and workspaces, all while strictly adhering to hygiene standards. You are an integral part of the kitchen brigade, collaborating seamlessly to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our valued guests.

Primary Responsibilities

Maintain impeccable hygiene while cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware, and other kitchen equipment, using both commercial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods

Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors

Disinfect and clean, ensuring the proper sequence of chemical usage

Provide valuable support to our kitchen team, including various tasks such as basic food preparation, grating, peeling, chopping, and preparing batters, garnishes, and seasonings.

Skills & Experience

Having practical experience in kitchen operations or cleaning is a plus

Have an enthusiastic "can-do" attitude and a positive and motivated demeanour

You thrive working within a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
