Job summary

Pullman East Melbourne is seeking an experienced Kitchen Steward to join our culinary team, reporting to the Chief Steward. You will help keep kitchens tidy and ready to deliver high-quality experiences for guests.

In this role you’ll maintain hygiene, care for equipment, and support chefs across shifts, including mornings and evenings. A positive can-do attitude and teamwork are essential to our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Enthusiastic, can-do attitude with a positive, motivated demeanour.
• Flexible availability to accommodate shifts including mornings, late evenings, weekends, overnights and public holidays.
• Motivated & committed to work with our passionate team.
• Commercial dishwashing experience (desirable).
• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Understanding of stock management and general kitchen cleaning.
• Adhere to safe work practices.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good work ethic and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, hygienic work environment with high quality standards.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned.
• Rinse dirty crockery and cutlery, stack in the dishwasher, unload and put away.
• Wash pots by hand.
• Provide F&B outlets with clean and sanitised operating equipment.
• Use correct handling techniques to transport and store food items.
• Wipe down benches.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Assist and liaise with chef on duty as required.
