Job summary

Crystalbrook Flynn, located in the heart of Cairns, is seeking a Kitchen Attendant to support chefs with food preparation and keep the kitchen clean and ready for service.

You will assist with deliveries, stock organization and maintain food storage, while joining a team focused on safety and hygiene in a bustling kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience preferred but not essential.
• Basic food preparation skills and understanding of food safety principles.
• Experience using a commercial dishwasher and cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
• Availability for approximately 24–38 hours per week, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Food safety certification, or willingness to obtain it.

The Opportunity:

Behind every memorable meal is a kitchen team making it happen. As a Kitchen Attendant, you will be right in the mix, supporting our chefs with food preparation and keeping our kitchens clean, organised and ready for service.

From preparing fresh ingredients and assisting with simple cooking tasks to keeping dishes, utensils and equipment ready for the next service, your contribution will be felt throughout the kitchen. You will also help receive deliveries, organise stock and maintain food storage areas, bringing care to the everyday details that keep our kitchens working at their best.

Working alongside our chefs, you will build your kitchen skills while supporting the safety, hygiene and responsible practices that underpin Crystalbrook Collection’s approach to hospitality.

This casual opportunity offers approximately 24–38 hours per week across a rotating roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

You enjoy hands‑on work and the energy of a busy kitchen. You take pride in keeping things clean and organised, follow direction carefully and are ready to lend a hand wherever the team needs you.

You will bring:

• Previous experience in a similar kitchen role, preferred but not essential

• A reliable approach, clear communication and the ability to stay organised during busy services
• Food safety certification, or a willingness to obtain it
• Availability for approximately 24–38 hours per week, including nights, weekends and public holidays
• Valid working rights in Australia
