Job summary

Crystalbrook Flynn in Cairns is seeking a dependable Public Areas Attendant to maintain the hotel’s shared spaces, ensuring cleanliness and presentation from lobby to back-of-house areas. You will work alongside the housekeeping team to keep public areas pristine and welcoming for guests.

The role is casual, roughly 24–38 hours per week, with a focus on safety, attention to detail, and a collaborative team approach within Crystalbrook Flynn’s vibrant environment.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or public area cleaning experience preferred.
• Calm, organized approach to work and high presentation standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to hotel standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Keep shared spaces clean, welcoming and well maintained throughout the day.
• Support housekeeping and other teams; monitor facilities and report maintenance needs.
• Identify potential hazards and contribute to a safe guest environment.
• Work on a casual schedule of approximately 24–38 hours per week.

The Opportunity:

The presentation of our hotel shapes every guest’s experience from the moment they arrive! As a Public Areas Attendant at Crystalbrook Flynn, you will help create that all-important first impression by ensuring our shared spaces are clean, welcoming and beautifully maintained throughout the day.

From the lobby and guest facilities to the spaces behind the scenes, you will take pride in the details that keep the hotel looking its best. Working both independently and alongside our housekeeping team, you will stay one step ahead of daily cleaning needs, identify potential hazards and report maintenance issues to support a safe and seamless guest experience.

This is a casual role offering approximately 24-38 hours per week.

The Talent:

We are seeking a dependable and motivated team member who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of cleanliness, presentation and safety in a hotel environment. Previous experience in housekeeping or public area cleaning is preferred, however a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are equally valued.

You bring a calm, organised approach to your work, with the ability to manage tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards. You are professional, reliable and enjoy being part of a culture that is collaborative, courageous and customer obsessed!

You will bring:

• Previous experience in housekeeping or public area cleaning (preferred but not essential)
• Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation standards
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• A proactive approach to workplace health and safety
• Clear communication skills and a dependable work ethic
