Eleven Barrack, part of the Bentley Restaurant Group, is seeking a passionate Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team in Sydney's CBD. Work closely with the Head Chef to maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation in a contemporary seafood and steak concept.

Qualifications

• Previous quality restaurant experience, ideally at Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef level.
• Strong technical cooking skills and passion for food.
• Experience with premium produce, seafood and quality meats.
• Solid understanding of kitchen operations, preparation and service.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Natural leadership and enjoyment of developing others.
• Positive attitude, work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Desire to grow professionally within a high-performing kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations.
• Lead and motivate kitchen brigade during service, ensuring consistency and detail.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, preparation and presentation.
• Oversee mise en place, preparation and service across sections.
• Support menu development and contribute ideas for seasonal dishes.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, receiving and minimising waste.
• Help manage kitchen labour and food costs through planning and organisation.
• Mentor and develop junior chefs and apprentices, fostering a positive kitchen culture.
