Job summary

Civic Homes Pty Ltd is a residential construction company specialising in Rooming House construction across Victoria. We are looking for a motivated Junior Site Supervisor / Site Supervisor to join our construction team and assist with the day-to-day delivery of our projects.

Working closely with our construction team, you will assist with the coordination and supervision of Rooming House projects across various stages of construction, from site start through to handover and completion.

Qualifications

• Practical site experience in residential construction.
• Trade background with carpentry preferred; or relevant site supervision.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and plans.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day supervision of construction sites.

• Monitor construction progress and project schedules.
• Review plans, specifications and construction documentation.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Site Supervisor / Site Supervisor to join our construction team and assist with the day-to-day delivery of our projects.

Working closely with our construction team, you will assist with the coordination and supervision of Rooming House projects across various stages of construction, from site start through to handover and completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Day-to-day supervision of construction sites
• Coordinate trades, subcontractors and suppliers
• Monitor construction progress and project schedules
• Review plans, specifications and construction documentation
• Monitor workmanship and ensure works meet required quality standards
• Carry out site inspections and follow up defects and incomplete works
• Coordinate material deliveries and site requirements
• Maintain site records, photos and progress updates
• Assist with building inspections and construction milestones
• Maintain clean, organised and safe construction sites
• Communicate with the Construction Manager, office team, trades and suppliers
• Identify and report site issues as they arise

About You

We are looking for someone practical, organised and comfortable working in a site environment.

This role would suit someone from a trade background who is looking to come off the tools and into site supervision, as well as someone who already has relevant site supervisory experience.

We would also welcome applications from semi-retired construction professionals with relevant residential building or site supervision experience who are interested in continuing to work in the industry.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in residential construction
• A trade background, preferably carpentry, or relevant construction/site experience
• Good understanding of residential construction stages and sequencing
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and plans
• Good attention to detail and a focus on quality
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Confidence dealing with trades, subcontractors and suppliers
• A current White Card
• Full Australian working rights

Preferred but not essential:

• Certificate IV in Carpentry, and/or Certificate IV in Building and Construction
• Previous experience with Rooming Houses / Class 1B construction
