Job summary

Landlay Consulting Group in Sydney is seeking a Junior Engineer to assist with remediation projects on Class 2 buildings, supporting the Senior Engineer with investigations and developing remediation strategies.

This role blends hands-on site work with design and reporting tasks, including draft scopes of works, client documentation, reports, and coordination of tender activities, QA, and project schedules.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Engineer to join our vibrant team in the inner west.

The Opportunity

Work alongside respected engineers delivering practical, real-world solutions predominately on Class 2 buildings. You will assist the Senior Engineer/Project Manager with defect investigations and prepare remediation strategies for project delivery. This role combines technical knowledge with hands‑on experience to provide engineering solutions to our clients.

You will be provided with a great mix of project management, site inspections and engineering design opportunities.

About the role

The role would require you to assist the Senior Engineer/Project Manager with the following tasks:

• Site audits, testing and building investigations
• Problem solving and development of remedial solutions
• Develop draft scope of works, specifications and remediation strategies
• Assist in the production of clear, concise reports and client documentation
• Coordinate project tender administration and assessment
• Assist with the delivery of project schedules, QA and compliance
• Assist with remedial work through supervising contractors on key hold points
• Comply with all company policies and procedures

What you bring

To be considered for this role, the following criteria is essential:

• A Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Demonstrated understanding of Australian codes and standards within a consultancy environment
• Excellent level of English written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to develop stakeholder management experience/customer service
• Excellent time management and teamwork skills
• New South Wales driver's licence with a reliable, fully insured motor vehicle
• Experience within the strata industry would be advantageous

The following criteria is highly desirable:

• At least 1+ year in remedial engineering or construction project management a similar role
• Demonstrated experience with undertaking site inspections and contractor coordination
• Demonstrated knowledge of design and construction methods of the built environment, such as concrete slabs, footings and framing, retaining walls, waterproofing, stormwater drainage, concrete repair, steel and timber structures and masonry repairs
• Demonstrated experience on remedial engineering projects to deliver technical solutions
• OH&S Induction Training for Construction Work (White Card)
