Job summary

Respect Aged Care in Tasmania is seeking an experienced IT Systems Support Officer to join our IT Service Desk. You will provide Level 1/2 support to staff, residents and partners, troubleshoot across desktops, networks and applications, and contribute to IT projects.

You will work in a hands-on, customer-focused role with flexible work-from-home arrangements and occasional site travel, supporting our aged care operations across the organisation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in an IT helpdesk/service desk or IT support role.
• Demonstrated high-quality technical support and meeting service expectations.
• Foundational IT qualification or certification.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills including root cause analysis.
• Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, document and maintain IT applications and systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to resolve issues.
• Understanding of modern network technologies, cybersecurity practices and OS (Windows, Linux).
• Current National Police Certificate or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 IT support across desktops, mobiles, apps, networks and core systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and resolve incidents; escalate as needed and raise changes.
• Work with third-party vendors to resolve issues efficiently.
• Ensure requests meet SLAs and maintain knowledge base and documentation.
• Coordinate IT equipment procurement, fulfilment and logistics.
• Contribute to IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in change management activities and post-implementation reviews.
• Be part of an on-call roster for out-of-hours incidents.
• Identify recurring issues and perform root cause analyses.
• Support a positive customer experience with clear, timely assistance.
