Job summary

Fortis Security in Melbourne is seeking an IT Support Technician to join our team, focusing on security technology beyond standard IT support. You’ll work with Windows, software and hardware, plus enterprise CCTV, access control and embedded devices to configure and program systems that protect critical sites.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows computers, software and peripherals.
• Strong understanding of IT systems and how technologies connect.
• Practical troubleshooting skills across hardware and software.
• Some knowledge of networking fundamentals or willingness to learn.
• Interest in electronic security, embedded hardware or connected devices.

Responsibilities

• Support Windows computers, user hardware, software and business systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, server, network and system integration issues.
• Build, configure, test and document servers, workstations and hardware.
• Assist with Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Windows Server environments
• Configure CCTV, access control, intercom and alarm platforms
• Work with embedded controllers and security hardware
• Assist with networking tasks including switches, VLANs, IP addressing, DNS and DHCP
• Pre-stage and test systems before deployment to client sites
• Provide technical assistance to project teams and clients
• Assist with software integrations, APIs, databases, scripting and automation
