Job summary

Office of the Public Guardian QLD – Brisbane QLD is seeking a Team Leader for investigations. You will supervise investigations, ensure legislative and policy compliance, and drive performance and delivery of investigations services across the team.

Key responsibilities include mentoring staff, reviewing investigations and reports, and presenting before tribunals. Travel across the state may be required, with overnight stays as needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Government Investigations or related degrees.
• Desirable: 2+ years of complex investigations experience.
• Desirable: experience in leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a team of investigators by providing mentoring, direction and specialist advice on complex allegations.
• Oversee and review conduct of investigations regarding abuse, neglect, exploitation; and adequacy of decision‑making arrangements for adults with impaired capacity.
• Oversee preparation and review of investigation reports and recommendations, including making protective actions.
• Appear before tribunals/courts as required.
• Provide high level advice to investigators, attorneys, administrators and informal decision makers.
• Negotiate sensitive and high conflict matters to reach informal and formal outcomes.
• Deliver best practice investigations through continuous improvement, planning, and policy development.
