Job summary

Metcash Trading Limited in Australia is seeking an Inventory Supervisor to own the stock accuracy, lead the inventory team, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced food distribution environment.

You will oversee cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations, partner with procurement and warehouse teams, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. A hands-on, proactive leader is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in inventory control or warehousing, preferably in food distribution.
• Strong attention to detail with hands-on experience in WMS, inventory reconciliation and stock control.
• Confident leader who can motivate a team and build relationships, with a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory accuracy across systems, including cycle counts, audits and reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, minimizing stock loss and improving integrity.
• Lead, coach and develop the inventory team, driving accountable, continuous improvement.
• Partner with Procurement, Receiving and Warehouse teams to optimize stock flow and efficiency.
• Ensure inventory processes meet food safety, quality and workplace safety standards.

About the Opportunity

Ready to take ownership of inventory in a fast-paced food distribution environment? As our Inventory Supervisor, you'll play a key role in keeping stock accurate, moving efficiently and available when it's needed. You'll lead the inventory control function, drive continuous improvement and help ensure the highest standards of accuracy, safety and compliance.

In this Role, You Will:

• Oversee inventory accuracy across Pronto and eveXso, including cycle counts, audits and reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, minimizing stock loss and improving inventory integrity.
• Lead, coach and develop the inventory team, building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Procurement, Receiving and Warehouse teams to optimize stock flow and operational efficiency.
• Ensure inventory processes meet food safety, quality and workplace safety standards.

You’ll bring:

• 2-3 years' experience in inventory control, warehousing or a similar role, ideally within food distribution.
• Strong attention to detail with hands-on experience in WMS, inventory reconciliation and stock control.
• A confident and approachable leader who can motivate a team and build strong working relationships.
• Highly organized and able to prioritize, problem-solve and deliver under pressure.
• A proactive, safety-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and compliance.
