Metcash is seeking an Inventory Supervisor to own the inventory control function in a fast-paced food distribution environment. You will lead a team, ensure stock accuracy, and drive continuous improvement to maintain safety and compliance.

You’ll collaborate with Procurement, Receiving, and Warehouse teams to optimise stock flow and operational efficiency, while upholding high standards of accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in inventory control or warehousing, preferably in food distribution.
• Strong attention to detail with hands-on experience in WMS and stock control.
• Proven leadership ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Highly organized with ability to prioritise and solve problems under pressure.
• Safety-focused mindset with commitment to continuous improvement and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory accuracy across systems including cycle counts and reconciliations.
• Investigate discrepancies, minimise stock loss and improve integrity.

About The Opportunity

Ready to take ownership of inventory in a fast‑paced food distribution environment? As our Inventory Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in keeping stock accurate, moving efficiently and available when it’s needed. You’ll lead the inventory control function, drive continuous improvement and help ensure the highest standards of accuracy, safety and compliance.

In This Role, You Will

• Oversee inventory accuracy across Pronto and eveXso, including cycle counts, audits and reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, minimising stock loss and improving inventory integrity.
• Lead, coach and develop the inventory team, building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Procurement, Receiving and Warehouse teams to optimise stock flow and operational efficiency.
• Ensure inventory processes meet food safety, quality and workplace safety standards.

You’ll Bring

• 2–3 years’ experience in inventory control, warehousing or a similar role, ideally within food distribution.
• Strong attention to detail with hands‑on experience in WMS, inventory reconciliation and stock control.
• A confident and approachable leader who can motivate a team and build strong working relationships.
• Highly organised and able to prioritise, problem‑solve and deliver under pressure.
• A proactive, safety‑focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and compliance.
