Job summary

Metcash is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our store, unite great people, drive strong commercial results and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You will recruit, coach and develop the team, own day-to-day operations including inventory and merchandising, and be accountable for sales, budgets and KPIs in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.

• 5+ years of leadership in retail, supermarket, or trade-based environments.

About The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Store Manager to lead our store and bring together great people, strong commercial results and an exceptional customer experience.

In This Role, You Will

• Lead the team: Recruit, coach, develop and inspire team members to deliver their best.
• Run the store: Own day-to-day operations, inventory, merchandising, stock management and customer experience.
• Drive performance: Take accountability for sales, profitability, budgets, costs and key store KPIs.
• Create a safe, compliant workplace: Champion WHS, food safety, hygiene and regulatory standards.
• Build local connections: Strengthen customer advocacy and relationships with local communities, producers and organisations.

You’ll Bring

• Retail leadership: 5+ years’ experience in retail, supermarket or trade-based environments, with proven people leadership experience.
• Commercial mindset: Strong business acumen and the ability to use data and insights to drive sales, profitability and efficiency.
• Customer focus: A genuine passion for creating great customer experiences and building a strong store culture.
• Influence & resilience: Confident managing competing priorities, influencing stakeholders and making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Operational expertise: Strong understanding of supermarket operations, inventory, merchandising, WHS, food safety and regulatory requirements.
