Southport Timbers, part of the Williams Group Australia, is seeking an experienced Internal Sales & Trade Counter Salesperson on a Monday-to-Friday schedule. Join a long‑standing, local family‑owned business delivering quality timber and building materials to the Gold Coast.

You will support builders, tradespeople and retail customers with product knowledge, quotes, orders and service excellence. This hands-on role sits across our internal sales office and trade counter, coordinating with yard

Qualifications

• Experience in building supplies, hardware, construction or related industry.
• Previous internal sales, trade counter or customer service experience.
• Good understanding of building products and construction industry.
• Confident dealing with builders, tradespeople and the general public.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong computer skills and experience with sales or order processing systems.
• Ability to work accurately in a busy, fast paced environment.
• Proactive approach, strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers at the trade counter and assisting with product enquiries.
• Handling incoming phone and email enquiries.
• Preparing quotes and following up sales opportunities.
• Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with builders, tradespeople and regular customers.
• Providing product advice and knowledge across a range of building materials.
• Liaising with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and lead times.
• Coordinating with yard, warehouse and delivery teams to ensure orders are completed correctly.
• Assisting with stock enquiries and product availability.
• Identifying opportunities to increase sales and grow customer accounts.
• Maintaining accurate customer and sales records.
• Working collaboratively with the team to achieve sales targets and business goals.
