Dahlsens Building Centres Pty in Townsville is seeking an experienced Sales, Quotes & Orders team member to bridge customers with the products they need, providing expert advice, preparing accurate quotations, processing orders and delivering outstanding service.

With trade, construction or building industry experience, you will build relationships with customers, identify opportunities to add value and help grow the branch.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quoting & Ordering role or similar preferred.
• Knowledge of building materials and associated products advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience dealing with suppliers and logistics.
• Commitment to Safety and Customer service.
• Solid understanding of building products.
• High level of computer literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly.

• Preparing accurate quotes for customer orders.
• Following up with builders to convert quotes to orders.
• Monitoring orders and communicating delays to builders.

• Cross-sell product ranges to builders for a one-stop shop approach.
• Maintain high site safety standards and duty of care for the team and visitors.
• Collaborate within a network to stay informed about the local market.
• Identify and assess customer needs with strong interpersonal skills and active listening.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for an experienced Sales, Quotes & Orders team member to join our Townsville branch. In this customer-focused role, you'll be the vital link between our customers and the products and solutions they need, providing expert advice, preparing accurate quotations, processing orders and delivering outstanding service every step of the way.

With your trade, construction or building industry experience, you'll build strong relationships with customers, identify opportunities to add value and help drive the continued growth of the business.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences. Working closely with a supportive team, you'll enjoy a role where no two days are ever the same.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prior experience with hardware, or within the building industry is essential.
• Processing of customer orders & quotes by phone and email
• Preparing accurate quotes for customer orders
• Following up with builders to convert quotes to orders
• Monitoring orders and ensuring delays are communicated to the builders

• Ability to cross sell product ranges to builders for a one stop shop approach
• High awareness of site safety and duty of care for your team, staff and site visitors
• Work as part of a network of people with their finger on the pulse knowing what is going on in the local building and construction market
• With a focus on identifying and assessing customer needs we need a team player showcasing excellent interpersonal skills, phone manner, and active listening skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quoting & Ordering role or similar preferred
• Knowledge and previous experience in the building materials and associated products (advantageous)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an enjoyment of working with people
• Previous experience dealing with suppliers and logistic companies
• Genuine commitment to Safety and Customer service
• Solid understanding of building products
• High level of computer literacy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
