Job summary

Tyro Payments Limited in Australia is seeking an Internal Audit Manager to own end-to-end audits, from planning to reporting and remediation follow-up. You will work with the Head of Internal Audit, lead complex engagements, and provide insights into risks and controls across payments, banking, technology, finance and operations.

The role emphasizes AI-enabled auditing and collaboration with senior leaders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in internal, external audit or risk assurance.
• Financial services or banking industry experience.
• Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, information technology or related.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CPA or CIA; CISA or equivalent technology audit qualification.
• Strong understanding of internal control concepts and evaluating business processes.
• Critical thinking with independent judgement under time pressure.
• Advanced use of AI tools to improve audit quality and efficiency with safeguards.
• Ability to work independently and coach team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; influencing and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of APRA framework and payments industry is valued.
• Experience managing multiple projects and coaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and report on risk-based assurance and advisory engagements across Tyro's domains, in compliance with standards.
• Scope engagements around material risks and evidence requirements.
• Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of controls against applicable standards.
• Apply professional scepticism and test underlying evidence to draw conclusions.
• Use data analytics and AI-enabled tools to test populations and identify anomalies.
• Use generative AI responsibly across audit lifecycle and ensure compliance with policies.
• Provide assurance over Tyro's use of AI and automation, including governance and risk.
• Prepare clear audit reports and Board Audit Committee papers with root-cause analyses.
• Track and validate remediation of audit issues before closure.
• Contribute to annual Internal Audit Plan and ongoing risk horizon scanning.
• Direct and review work of co-source and external providers.
• Build relationships with business, risk, compliance, and external auditors while maintaining independence.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodology and tools, including AI adoption.
