Job summary

Kelly+Partners in regional NSW is seeking an Intermediate Accountant. You will be backed by the Partner and senior team, receiving training and mentoring to build a strong career foundation.

You will work with diverse clients across individuals, companies, trusts and SMSFs, preparing financial statements, tax returns and BAS/IAS, with ongoing professional development and postgraduate support. Two offices offer options to suit you locally.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in an accounting practice.
• Working towards Chartered Accountant qualification or keen to start.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or similar.
• Comfortable with APS, MYOB, Xero and QuickBooks software.
• Confident communicator with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Partners and team to ensure timely client work.
• Lead in preparing Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs.
• Prepare BAS, IAS, FBT, CGT and PAYG for various entities.
• Deliver annual workers compensation and payroll tax reconciliations.
• Be coached by a Partner to manage a diverse client portfolio.
• Liaise with statutory authorities on behalf of clients.
• Provide exceptional client service and participate in training and meetings.
• Mentor junior team members and support learning and growth.

The Opportunity

As an Intermediate Accountant, you will be well supported from day one. Guided by the Partner and the senior team around you, you will have the training, mentoring and guidance to build strong foundations and grow your career at a pace that works for you.

Position Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Partners and team members to ensure client work is completed in a timely manner
• Take the lead in preparing Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs
• Prepare BAS, IAS, FBT, CGT and PAYG for a variety of companies and trusts
• Prepare and deliver annual workers compensation and payroll tax reconciliations
• Be coached directly by an experienced Partner with the aim to manage a diverse portfolio of clients
• Liaise with various statutory authorities on behalf of clients
• Help provide an exceptional service to our clients
• Participate in training seminars, team meetings and social events
• Offer support and training to junior team members

About You

• At least 1 year of experience in an Accounting Practice
• Working towards your Chartered Accountant qualification, or keen to get started
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or similar
• Comfortable with accounting software, such as APS, MYOB, Xero and QuickBooks
• A confident communicator, both written and verbal
• Naturally organised with a great eye for detail
• Warm, customer-focused and positive in your approach
• Genuinely care about doing great work for your clients
