Job summary

Meli is seeking an Intensive Caseworker to help young people involved with Youth Justice transition into their communities and pursue safer, more independent paths.

You will work with young people, families and service networks to reduce barriers to education, employment and wellbeing using trauma-informed, strengths-based practice.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Youth Work, Social Work or Community Welfare (Diploma+). Will consider a relevant combination of education and experience.
• Experience in providing case management support to vulnerable individuals and families utilising the Best Interests Case Management Framework.
• Proven ability to engage and case-manage young people at risk and young people exhibiting challenging behaviours.
• An understanding of the impact of trauma on young people and the ability to work from a trauma informed approach.
• Ability to undertake needs identification and risk assessments to inform decision making, planning and interventions for an individual or family plan.
• Understanding of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and commitment to a child safe organisation.

The Intensive Caseworker plays a vital role in supportingyoung people involved with Youth Justice to successfully transition into theircommunities and move towards greater independence. Working alongside youngpeople, families and key support networks, you will help reduce barriers toeducation, employment, social connection and wellbeing.

• $105,835 (pro-rata) p/a + Super + SalaryPackaging
