Job summary

Meli is hiring a Casual Case Support Worker in Geelong to provide practical support, guidance and positive role modeling for children, young people and families. You will work with carers and practitioners to promote safe, nurturing environments and help access education, health and community services.

The role requires a Victorian Driver’s license, flexibility in working hours, and a compassionate, trauma-informed approach.

Qualifications

• Qualification in or working towards a qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood, Psychology, Nursing, Alcohol and Other Drugs or related field
• Experience in working with children and young people with complex needs/behaviours
• Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work as part of a diverse team
• Ability to respond appropriately and with calmness to crisis situations

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible day-to-day support for children, young people and families in line with individual care plans

• Ability to respond appropriately and withcalmness to crisis situations
• Understanding of the impacts of trauma onchildren and young people and knowledge of trauma informed care/practice.
