Job summary

Mission Australia is seeking an Injury Management & WHS Specialist to strengthen safety and wellbeing across our team. You will coordinate person-centred return-to-work plans, navigate workers’ compensation across multiple jurisdictions, and build trusted relationships with injured staff, insurers, and leaders to support meaningful work.

As part of a not-for-profit organisation, you’ll contribute to safer workplaces, lead WHS projects, and help reduce risk while keeping our purpose at the heart

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience coordinating injury management/RTW
• Solid working knowledge of workers’ compensation and WHS requirements across multiple jurisdictions
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with injured workers, HR, insurers and providers

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact when an injury happens; lodge claims promptly and set up return-to-work plans.
• Ensure compliance across states by applying workers’ compensation rules and managing wage payments.
• Partner with people across the organisation to remove barriers and support safe, sustainable return to work.
• Share updates and necessary documents at each step to keep decisions informed and recovery on track.
• Monitor claims and provide simple reports to help leaders make decisions.
• Identify trends and psychosocial hazards and suggest practical controls to speed recovery.
