Job summary

SA Health in Adelaide is seeking a Part-time Administration Assistant to support the Infusion Centre team at Noarlunga Hospital. The role involves handling visitor requests, telephone enquiries, and coordination with Radiology, laboratories, and medical staff.

The successful candidate will have ward admin experience in a clinical setting, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well within a team, including supporting distressed patients and carers with empathy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Ward Administrative Assistant/Admin Assistant.
• Experience working in a clinical environment.
• Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
• Experience working with distressed patients/carers with empathy.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that requests of the patient’s family re visitors are adhered to.
• Answering all incoming telephone calls and dealing with routine patient enquiries – using judgement in conveying appropriate information.
• Liaising with other departments (eg to Radiology, laboratories, other medical staff) as requested by the NUM.
• Preparing patient notes on admission and sort notes prior to discharge
• Maintaining records/statistics pertinent to each area and identifying systems that require improvement.
