Job summary

Exceed Global is partnering with a Victorian public sector organisation to recruit an infrastructure operations lead in Melbourne. You will own day-to-day operations across Azure, on-premises and hybrid platforms, networks, identity, backup and DR, working hands-on and guiding vendors.

You will drive patching, hardening and vulnerability remediation to Essential Eight and NIST CSF, lead major incident response, and report to technology leadership.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on Azure, Windows Server, virtualization or HCI, and Microsoft 365 integration.
• Strong enterprise networking: firewalls, WAF, routing, switching, DNS and segmentation.
• Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity ownership, including RTO and RPO testing.
• Proven operational leadership and service ownership in a complex enterprise environment.
• Current Working with Children Check, National Police Check and Victorian driver licence.

About the company

Our client is a substantial Victorian public sector organisation based in inner Melbourne. It is midway through a multi-year technology modernisation program covering cloud adoption, infrastructure resilience, security uplift and operational performance across a hybrid Microsoft environment.

About the role

Reporting to technology leadership, you own day-to-day infrastructure operations while staying technically hands-on across Azure, on-premises and hybrid platforms, networking, identity, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring and managed services. You lead the operational work and the vendors behind it.

Duties

• Own daily operations across cloud, servers, storage, network, identity and backup
• Lead major incident response, recovery, communications and post-incident improvement
