Job summary

Real Time Australia is seeking a highly capable IT Operations Support Specialist to own a cloud-based environment in a SME setting. You will be the standalone operational expert, optimizing systems and ensuring MSP partners meet SLAs, while providing frontline support to staff.

The role offers a base salary of $135,000 plus superannuation, with hybrid work (2 days WFH) after probation and a Brisbane city fringe location with parking options.

Responsibilities

• Administrating and optimizing a Microsoft 365 and Azure environment (Entra, SSO, endpoints).
• Acting as primary escalation point for Tier 1 MSPs and cybersecurity partners to ensure SLAs are met.
• Providing frontline L1/L2 user support (passwords, device setups, troubleshooting).
• Managing backups and disaster recovery protocols.
• Supporting backend integration for LMS, CRM, and CMS platforms.

Are you a highly capable IT Operations Support Specialist who loves keeping backend operations secure just as much as you love solving day-to-day tech problems for your team?This is the job for you!

We are seeking a highly capable IT Operations Specialist to take ownership of a fully cloud-based environment. You will be the technical backbone of a successful SME organization that is highly digitalized and investing heavily in modernization, AI, and data initiatives. This is a hands-on, ego-free environment. You won’t be managing staff; instead, you will be the standalone operational expert, walking the floor, optimizing systems, and holding external MSPs accountable to their SLAs.

What you’ll be doing:

• Administering and optimizing a complete Microsoft 365 and Azure operational environment (including Entra, SSO, and endpoint management).
• Serving as the primary operational escalation point for Tier 1 external MSPs and cybersecurity partners, ensuring network, firewall, and infrastructure SLAs are met.
• Providing highly visible, friendly L1/L2 ad-hoc technical support to internal users (passwords, device setups, troubleshooting).
• Managing backups and disaster recovery protocols.
• Supporting backend integration and access for enterprise LMS, CRM, and CMS platforms.

What you’ll bring to the team:

• Demonstrated technical depth and breadth across systems, servers, networks, and cloud infrastructure, specifically within a comprehensive Microsoft 365 and Azure environment.
• Proven experience as an IT Operations Specialist, IT Generalist, or Standalone Systems Administrator where you have successfully owned the entire IT landscape.
• A strong “service desk” mentality—you genuinely enjoy helping people and have no ego about doing basic tech support alongside complex operational work.
• Commercial maturity and experience managing third-party IT vendors, ensuring SLAs across network and infrastructure are met.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to optimizing underutilized software and supporting modernization projects.
