Job summary

The Banktech Group is seeking an experienced Enterprise Infrastructure Architect to design and govern hybrid cloud and on‑prem architectures in Sydney. You will ensure secure, scalable infrastructure aligned with regulatory standards while guiding implementation and operations.

Your responsibilities include end-to-end architectures across Azure, VMware vSphere/NSX, and backup/DR, with emphasis on governance, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in enterprise infrastructure with strong solution architecture and infra engineering.
• Strong expertise across Microsoft Azure, VMware vSphere, NSX, and vSAN.
• Experience developing HLDs, LLDs, architecture roadmaps and technical standards.
• Experience with PCI DSS and ISO 27001, with Zero Trust, PKI, encryption, and identity management.
• PowerShell scripting and Infrastructure as Code experience is a plus.

• Design and manage hybrid infrastructure environments across Microsoft Azure and on-premises platforms.
• Architect, implement, and manage VMware vSphere environments.

You will be responsible for providing strategic solution architecture and deep technical expertise across the design, architecture, implementation and operational governance of enterprise infrastructure. You will ensure solutions are secure, scalable, resilient and aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements, while providing technical expertise across infrastructure platforms, networking, security, disaster recovery and application integration to support project delivery and operational excellence.

This will include:

• Develop end-to-end solution architectures across infrastructure, cloud, networking, security, applications, and integration domains
• Design and manage hybrid infrastructure environments across Microsoft Azure and on-premises platforms
• Architect, implement, and manage VMware vSphere environments
• Design and manage Azure IaaS
• Apply Security-by-Design and Zero Trust principles, ensuring infrastructure aligns with PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, ISO 42001
• Design and Manage VMWare NSX & Load Balancing
• Own enterprise certificate lifecycle management
• Design and maintain enterprise backup solutions
• Design and maintain enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions, including RTO/RPO strategies, regular DR testing, and documented business continuity capabilities
• Manage infrastructure monitoring and automation using VMware Monitoring, Zabbix, and PowerShell, driving operational excellence and service improvement
• Manage technical stakeholders and vendors to support infrastructure delivery, service performance, and continuous improvement

You'll bring to the role a skill set that includes:

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in enterprise infrastructure, with strong solution architecture and infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong technical expertise across Microsoft Azure, VMware vSphere, VMware NSX, vSAN and Windows Server.
• Experience developing HLDs, LLDs, architecture roadmaps and technical standards.
• Experience with PCI DSS and ISO 27001, with a strong understanding of Zero Trust, PKI, encryption standards and identity management.
• PowerShell scripting and Infrastructure as Code experience is a plus.
