Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education is seeking a School Officer to support Trinity College, Beenleigh in the Industrial Technologies program. The role involves assisting with wood/metalworking activities, maintaining safe workshop spaces, and guiding students in practical tasks to enhance learning outcomes.

Key duties include preparing resources, ensuring PPE use, and collaborating with teachers to implement safe and effective lessons for diverse learners in a Catholic education setting.

Qualifications

• Trade or workshop experience supporting woodwork, metalwork or similar practical learning environments.
• Experience assessing and monitoring student progress to identify areas for targeted intervention.
• Exposure to creating diverse teaching methods and assessments to accommodate various learning styles.
• Certificate III in Education Support is essential.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, organising and maintaining resources, materials, and equipment for practical classes and demonstrations.
• Ensuring workshop spaces are clean, organised, and safe at all times, including SOPs and general housekeeping.
• Assisting students with PPE fitting and safe practices during practical activities.
• Setting up and disassembling lessons and ensuring tools and materials are ready and returned safely.
• Collaborating with the Industrial Technologies Teacher to promote safe workshop operations.
• Supporting teachers during practical lessons and guiding hands-on tasks.
