Job summary

Cochlear Limited is seeking an Industrial Engineer to review and implement methods, layouts and resources in Brisbane manufacturing to improve efficiency and flexibility. The role collaborates with the Manufacturing Manager and support staff to resolve production issues in a permanent full-time capacity at the Newstead site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to apply Lean principles and tools.
• Strong emphasis on continuous improvement and waste reduction.

Responsibilities

• Assess manufacturing areas for efficiency improvements.
• Document and analyze process data (cycle times, OEE).
• Map processes (Value Stream, SIPOC, Spaghetti).
• Recommend and implement Lean-driven improvements with cost/benefit analyses.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritise and drive improvements.
• Define visual displays and metrics to monitor outcomes.
• Design layouts to maximize space and efficiency.
