Job summary

Slattery Grays Auctions, Australia’s largest family-owned auction company, is seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to join our Industrial sales team in Sydney. You will identify leads, build trusted partnerships for disposal of surplus equipment, and contribute to growth with a warm book of clients.

Qualifications

• Proven sales ability with a track record of growth and closing deals.
• Auction experience—directly employed or via trading/customer engagement—essential.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills with client-facing credibility.

Responsibilities

• Cover a large region surrounding Sydney with regular face-to-face site meetings.
• Balance high-volume cold calls with warm leads, including repeat and dormant accounts.
• Assess partners, research competition, evaluate deals and partnerships, and build business cases.
• Serve as the lead contact for customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders with excellent service.
• Build strong professional relationships within local and national teams.
• Provide revenue forecasts and review sales results to meet budgets and KPIs.
• Utilise negotiation skills to secure and close new business.
• Plan and execute local sales strategies, proposals and presentations.
• Weekly travel is required to achieve goals.
