Job summary

Slattery Grays Auctions is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our Industrial sales team based in Southern NSW or ACT. You will identify leads, build trusted partnerships for surplus asset disposal across multiple categories, and manage a warm book of clients to drive revenue.

Qualifications

• Proven sales ability with a history of overachievement and closing large deals.
• Market knowledge or existing relationships across industrial categories such as transport, earthmoving, construction, and manufacturing.
• Auction experience—directly employed or through trading/customer engagement—is essential.
• Ability to translate client needs into complete solutions.
• Demonstrated success in entrepreneurial, fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• Flexible and adaptable mindset in a constantly evolving business/martket.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Cover a large region surrounding southern NSW (Albury, Griffith, Wagga, Forbes) and the greater ACT with regular face-to-face site meetings.
• Execute both cold calls and warm leads, including repeat and dormant accounts to identify sales opportunities.
• Assess potential partners, perform competitive research, evaluate deals and partnerships, and develop business cases.
• Be the lead contact for customers, vendors and internal stakeholders, delivering exceptional service.
• Build strong professional relationships within local and national teams.
• Provide revenue forecasts and review sales results to meet budgets and KPIs.
• Utilise negotiation skills to secure and close new business.
• Plan and execute local sales strategies, proposals and presentations.
• Weekly travel is required to achieve goals.
