Job summary

Slattery Grays Auctions, Australia's largest national family-owned auction company, seeks a motivated Business Development Manager for the ACT/NSW region. You will identify leads, build trusted partnerships, and manage disposal of surplus equipment across transport and industrial categories.

Qualifications

• Proven sales ability with a track record of overachievement.
• Market knowledge and/or existing relationships across industrial categories.
• Auction experience - directly employed or through trading - is essential.
• Ability to translate client needs into complete solutions.
• Demonstrated success in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
• Flexible and adaptable mindset in a evolving market.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Cover a large region surrounding southern NSW and the ACT with regular face-to-face meetings.
• Balance high-volume cold calls with warm leads to identify opportunities.
• Assess partners, perform competitive research, and develop business cases for targets.
• Be lead contact for customers, vendors and internal teams with excellent service.
• Build strong relationships within local and national teams.
• Provide revenue forecasts and review results against budgets and KPIs.
• Use negotiation skills to secure and close new business.
• Plan and present local sales strategies and proposals.
• Weekly travel is required to meet goals.
