Job summary

Warrigal Employment Services is seeking an Indigenous Mentor to support the Aboriginal Skilling for Employment Initiative in New South Wales. You will engage with learners, employers and RTOs, building trust and helping to connect participants with opportunities in the local labour market.

You will develop Individual Mentoring Plans and provide ongoing mentoring and advisory support across face‑to‑face, virtual and phone formats, while keeping detailed notes in an online reporting system and

Qualifications

• Experience mentoring unemployed young people who experience high levels of disadvantage.
• Strong understanding of the local labour market.
• Ability to engage with Aboriginal learners, employers and RTOs with privacy and respect.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Aboriginal learners, their employers and RTOs while respecting privacy.
• Build partnerships with key stakeholders to improve employment opportunities.
• Promote Barranggirra initiative events and activities.
• Write an Individual Mentoring Plan and provide regular mentoring and advisory support (in person, online or by phone).
• Keep notes using an online reporting system and maintain compliance requirements.
