Job summary

Worldview Foundation in Fyshwick, ACT is seeking a Cultural Employment Pathways Mentor to provide culturally safe personal mentoring and practical workplace leadership for at-risk Indigenous young men.

You will deliver coaching, set goals, coordinate with partners, support wellbeing, and help participants progress into employment, training or further education while maintaining a trauma-informed environment.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in community services, youth work, Indigenous studies, employment services, mental health, counselling, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities and young people is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience is essential.
  • Current driver’s licence and capacity to travel as required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check), or willingness and ability to obtain it before commencement.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain it.
  • National Police Check and any other screening required for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally safe personal mentoring to Indigenous young men.
  • Coaching and supervision across practical activities in a trauma-informed environment.
  • Coordinate with Worldview Program Manager ACT, warehouse staff, training providers and employers.
  • Develop individual goals and action plans with participants and review progress.
  • Support participants with resumes, job applications and interview preparation.
  • Engage employers and community partners to create opportunities and resolve barriers.

Education

Relevant qualification in community services, youth work, Indigenous studies, employment services, mental health, counselling, or related field
