Job summary

Remote Area Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation – Cairns QLD is seeking a Family Led Convenor to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families through culturally safe, family-led decision-making.

This full-time role based in Cairns or within a designated Cape York Queensland community involves facilitating family-led meetings, building relationships, maintaining records and traveling to remote communities to empower families and strengthen communities.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate family-led meetings and conversations that support positive outcomes for children and families.
• Empower families to identify solutions, build on strengths and actively participate in decision-making.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, community members and key stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate client records and case documentation.
• Participate in community engagement activities and events.
• Travel to remote communities as required.
