Job summary

REFOCUS is seeking a Team Leader – Family Services to provide operational leadership across programs serving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families in Moreton Bay. You will supervise frontline teams, drive culturally safe and trauma-informed practice, ensure compliance with legislation, and build strong partnerships with Child Safety and local communities.

Qualifications

• Experience in child protection, family support, youth work, or related fields
• Demonstrated leadership or supervision experience in complex service environments
• Strong commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed practice
• Ability to lead teams, manage performance, and support workforce development
• Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Human Services, or related field

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and support to frontline teams
• Oversee program delivery across Family Participation, Delegated Authority, Community and Kinship Care, and Family Finder programs
• Ensure services are culturally safe, trauma-informed, and aligned with legislation and standards
• Support placement stability, reunification, and positive outcomes for children and families
• Lead documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements across programs
• Build strong working relationships with Child Safety, families, and community stakeholders
